31 Main Street is the second of the Merchants Lofts apartment buildings. The building dates back to 1875 and was originally erected for a dry goods business. Before it became Phoenixville Trust Co. and later the Industrial Valley Bank, the store operated as a boarding house and later a bakery.

Today, the Charlotte Thomas Salon resides on the first floor. The upper floors have been transformed into six unique Manhattan-style loft apartments available for lease. Each apartment is unique encompassing a blend of historical character, modern amenities and hip style.
